Bellydance and you
I am often asked "How long does it take to learn to bellydance?" Everyone wants to leave the lesson shimmying & shaking - and you might well do, but it won't be as controlled or as sustained as it could be if you had been practising & dancing for a while with a good teacher.
You can learn the basic moves in about 12 weeks, but the more you practice, the quicker you will build up muscle memory, the sooner you can move on to perfecting your technique & adding embellishments. Bellydance is a journey, as long or short as you like. Wether you are learning for fitness, to dance just one special party piece or you want to take it to performance level - you never stop learning or adding to your dance! Good Luck!
